Last winter I did a lot of work in a local woodland hide of course it was very dark and using my 40D and the built in flash I was able to get some reasonable photographs of most of the birds.
I know that using a flash will frighten some birds away but on the whole I found that most of them got used to it and ignored it. Can anyone suggest if an external flash or any other product on the market will allow me to make a better job this winter , I heard someone on another website mention a Beamer ,but I donīt know what that is?
