ummmm.... thinking of getting one (point and shoot... I don't understand all the techy stuff) and I don't want to be carrying lenses

Are they really any good? I think they go up to about 20x optical zoom, is the quality reasonable at that magnification?

Any thoughts/advice would be most welcome
